Dubai will create a robotic Jurassic Park!At a signing ceremony in Dubai, Ilyas & Mustafa Galadari Group (IMGG), developers of City of Arabia at Dubailand, officially appointed Jack Rouse Associates of Cincinnati to manage the design and build contract for the 500,000 square foot park, which will contain life-like dinosaurs and exhibits of real fossil discoveries.
The $1.1 billion dollar theme park named "Restless Planet" will be filled with huge robotic and animatronic dinos and be sort of like Spielberg's vision from the movie Jurassic Park.
These huge robotic dinos will roam the park and will even exhibit some
lifelike behavior like going after people with red shirts and breathe
and stink. There will be more than 100 animatronic dinosaurs, like the
T-Rex, the Velociraptors and more gentle plant eaters like Triceratops
and the gigantic Brontosaurus.
The ruling party of Dubai is commissioning the Natural History Museum to build the park six miles off their coast in an area called the City of Arabia. Dubai wants to redefine itself from an oil-rich country to a theme park tourist country. The robotic Jurassic Park is the first and largest of four mega-science-theme-parks they plan to build. The park is set to open in the spring of 2008.
The
Park, named "Restless Planet" will have Dinosaur animatronics designed
by Tokyo-based animatronics team Kokoro and will be housed in a 75 meter dome, designed by international specialists firm RH Architects.
The
Natural History Museum of London will be responsible for the overall
concept of the Restless Planet, a signature development of the 20
million square foot City of Arabia
project. It will also manage the scientific accuracy of the dinosaur
and fossil displays, and the educational content of the park. Dr. Jack
Horner, the well-known palaeontologist who was a consultant for Stephen
Spielberg’s Jurassic Park films, will also act as an advisor to the Restless Planet team.
The
Natural History Museum and IMGG will use the facilities of the theme
park to display real dinosaur discoveries and make announcements for
the benefit of the international scientific community. travelforlife.ru
